IBDP Examinations - Best of Luck to the Class of 2024!

MR. TIM NOBLETT  |  MAY 8, 2024

We have recently celebrated our G12 students, the Class of 2024, final day of lessons. While this was a wonderful community celebration, it was met with a touch of nervousness from the G12s as this also meant that their IBDP examinations were right around the corner. High-stakes examinations, such as the IBDP, can create a sense of dread for students – “how is it fair that all of my efforts over 12 plus years of schooling get funnelled down to one, unseen test for all my subjects? What if I have a bad day, what if I don’t understand the questions, what if my paper gets lost in the mail?”

But, we wish to remind our G12 students - and all students - that exams do not have to be an overwhelming stress and, if approached in the right way, can be extremely rewarding (even enjoyable)! Exams are a great chance to show what you know and what you can do in fair and consistent conditions. Exams are not a judgement of you as a person, they are an indicator of how you performed on an occasion. Exams can be a pathway to where you are going, but exams are not the only way, nor are they the end of the journey. So as our G12s embark on their IBDP examinations, we, as the ISA SC community, wish them all the best. We marvel at their resilience and bravery, we acknowledge their skills and depth of understanding, WE HOPE THEY CAN GET SOME GOOD NIGHT'S SLEEP! But most of all, we are proud of the G12s for representing our ISA SC community now and also into the future – good luck!
