"Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice, and most of all, love of what you are doing." - Pelé

Achieving greatness in sports requires dedication, continuous learning, and the willingness to work hard and enjoy the process. It’s amazing to see how the athletes at ISA Science City embody these qualities. They are truly dedicated to their sports, putting in the effort, practising and constantly learning new skills. Their commitment and hard work have rewarded them with thrilling results. Now, let’s take a look at their achievements!

Since September, our sports teams have been actively participating in many tournaments, competitions, and friendly matches with other schools. They are training very hard during CCA time, and at the weekends. It is no wonder why athletes from ISA Science City have shown excellent teamwork and sportsmanship while competing against other schools previously.

On September 16th, the middle school boy’s football team went to Macau for the Pearl River Conference, Red Division tournament. We had some intense matches against AISG and SWIS international school, but we emerged victorious in the final against TIS, Macau. Coach Mr Phillips and Mr McCorry were delighted and impressed with how the players performed and were proud to have won the program’s first championship of the 2023-24 season. Captain King Fan led the team in the midfield, Alex Wang held it down in defence and Sunny Li showed an impressive performance in goal.

This month, our G4-5 girls' basketball team played in the 2023-24 GISES Basketball Exchange. They emerged as champions after victories against competitive schools such as ZIS and Utahloy, finishing 1st out of 6 schools. A big thanks to Mr. Tim Duncan for coaching the girls after school and during lunch breaks.

Our G4-5 boys' basketball team also put up a great fight in the GISES tournament, finishing third place with victories over ZIS and CISGZ. They had a close game against Utahloy, who eventually became the champions.

Good luck to all the teams that are competing in their upcoming competitions, and let’s give a big thanks to all the coaches for putting their effort and time into training the teams and encouraging the students to play and participate in the activities.
